Smilin’ down on me.

Somebody must have been this morning because things went as nearly perfectly as I could hope. Started at 5 AM with bringing up the two host sites – painless. By 5:30 we had three of six remotes on line with no problems. By 6:30 the two last production remotes and by shortly after 7 the final remote. Then by 8, despite some routing difficulties, the final 2 non-frame sites were online. Not too damn bad. You try bringing up a network, scatted across seven states with well-meaning but generally technically incompetent folks out there to help, with virtually no snags whatsoever. I chalk it up to competence on my end, a great deal of help from a list of folks too numerous to mention and just bloody good luck. A great deal of prayer over the last weeks and months probably didn’t hurt either.

What a damned nightmare. I’m very glad it’s all but over. I think the relaxation will kick in sometime after lunch (haven’t eaten in nearly eight hours) and then maybe I’ll actually be able to sleep soundly tonight for the first time in weeks.

And then maybe tomorrow, I’ll actually have a chance to catch up on all the things I’ve missed over the last couple of weeks. Mmmm, calm cool and collected. I love that feeling.
