A relatively shitty weekend broken up by a relatively decent party. I figured out why the whole world went to hell in the latter part of the week though. Damn full moon. Always screwing things up.
I have two predictions for the time ahead.
1. This Eagles team – don’t ask me what this means specifically, I haven’t decided yet – will never make it to the Super Bowl. Something will have to change. Regardless, the Eagles as we currently know them will never go to the big game. Damn the Philly sports curse!
2. We’re not going to invade Iraq. Support is already slipping, the bunny-huggers have had ample time to get organized – as evidenced by the rally this weekend in the capital – the administration is split, Congress sees enough anti-war support to want to debate the question again, Saddam appears to be caving to the inspectors, etc. It all adds up. We’re not going. Pity, we could have saved those people from decades more of the most terrible oppression imaginable but the United States simply doesn’t have the moral fortitude it once had. I know the Romans had a latin phrase for it which I can’t immediately recall but it had something to do with the weakness inherent in luxury.
Man, what would Ronald Reagan say if he could remember he’s not Bonzo?
