Heard a bit on NPR

Heard a bit on NPR (National Proletariat Radio) this morning about the Senate “Spouses Club.” Now, of course, there is no such thing persay but they were recounting the people who have belonged and commenting how it can’t be called the Senate “Wives Club” anymore because of the number of female senators…and hence male spouses. Damned if they didn’t mention that two of those spouses are, get this, Bill Clinton and Bob Dole.

Now that’s funny. Dole can beat Clinton with his good arm for besmirching not only Dole’s own reputation and accomplishments but for staining forever the Office of the President of the United States. Won’t that make for some interesting cocktail parties.

I have to say, as bad as Clinton was I am still not convinced Bob Dole was the man for the job in 1996 although, having heard Dole speak at college I am greatly impressed by the man himself and in awe of the service he has provided his nation. I wish everyone had known that at the time…think how much different our country would be if Clinton had not served a second term.
