2002 has come and is on the verge of going (depending on your timezone). Another year down, another one to come…my 30th on this earth if anyone’s counting. I should hope 2003 will be a year of pleasant changes and movement as I am firmly of the opinion a man should have accomplished something by the time he reaches 30 but I expect more of the same. That being said, my predictions for 2003 are:
1. Nothing new on my front.
2. The North Korea crisis will be resolved peaceably but with a great deal less of the “swapping stuff for good behavior” higgledy piggledy than has been prevalent in the past.
3. Iraq will be invaded, Saddam will quickly fall and the remaking of the Middle East will continue apace.
4. The economy will improve.
Hrm, that pretty much covers everything I can think of. Nothing anybody else couldn’t reason out by themselves. I’ll have to think a while about some things that might happen that nobody else could have predicted. How about an Eagles SuperBowl? A Phillies play off series? Possible, possible. I prefer to deal in known quantities and I’m too much a cynic to bank entirely on silly minded hope but I reckon 2003 will turn out to be OK…a year of death and destruction resulting in liberty and justice for all.
