Second and last Christmas over the weekend. Spent Saturday tooling around Philly looking at the Christmas decorations in the downtown department stores, the big lightshow in ex-Wanamaker’s and the Christmas Carol display in Strawbridge’s. A holiday tradition so to speak and always enjoyable. We repaired to Grammy’s house in NJ for the holiday feast and the last gift exchange (Pollyannas and grandparent’s gifts). Didn’t make out too bad, got a nice marble rolling pin for knocking people on the head in my kitchen, a book on the Adamses and the latest edition of Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations. Nifty cool. Well worth checking out if you ever see a copy anywhere.
And in the wider world cloned babies steal the Kenyan election and force North Korea to the barganing table. Yeesh…I go away for the weekend and the whole world falls apart.
