Boxing Day

Eh, I know it’s a Canadian holiday but dammit, it’s British as well. So, I’ll celebrate British Boxing Day by boxing up all my new stuff for the long trek up three flights of stairs to my already overcrowded abode. Didn’t get anything overly spectacular, a good tea kettle and a tea set, got some books and a filtering water pitcher and a new set of pots. I am just entirely too practical…actually I spend all my money on toys and amusments and leave precious little for things like food, clothing and other needs so I let people buy me my needs and I provide for my wants. My Christmas present to myself? A $2000 surround sound speaker system. Mmmmm, Saving Private Ryan in DTS surround sound. Swanky.

I was watching the snow fall yesterday and was suddenly struck with remembrace of all the folks who couldn’t spend yesterday lounging about with their families so a quick minute to remember the soldier and sailors out there whacking heretics. I even took a second to remember the PennDOT folks clearing roads so I could get back to my house last night.

God bless ’em, every one.
