While relieving myself after lunch I saw on the wall — I dig how places are putting the newspaper up on the wall above the pissers these days — that Al Gore is “back” and seriously considering another run for the big office in 2004. Oddly enough (for the mainstream media) the paper noted that Republicans are more excited about that prospect than Democraps. And why would that be, you might well ask?
Well, as I see it, despite narrowly winning the popular vote — which as we have all learned plays only a secondary role in our Presidential electoral system — Al still lost. Add to that the wonderful electoral victory of the Republican party in the late election and our current President’s soaring popularity and you come up with a formula not only sure to tilt the election toward the President but to ensure the downfall of the Democratic Party as a viable political force for years to come.
Just let the Dems come out swinging, like Al says “letting it all hang out.” Run their typical race baiting, divide and conquer strategy by a public so disgusted with divisive national politics that they upended history and gave total control of the Federal government to one party and see what happens. Anybody think people will overwhelmingly vote for the folks that aren’t out there tailoring their message to certain narrow interest groups and instead talking about the interests of the nation as a whole? Riiiight. Oh boy, oh boy, the Dems are steering more to the hard left these days, back to their “roots” in the anti-war, anti-law and order, anti-everything but drugs and free sex culture of the ’60s and 70s. Anybody think that might disgust an American public in favor of war, in favor of pro-life policies, in favor of “family values” . . . whatever that means?
Hot damn, who here thinks that a solid thumping in 2004…say a landslide for President Bush and roughly 75% control of both houses of Congress for Republicans won’t cause the Dems to go further into their hate-mongering, financially destructive, anti-patriotic ways? Hey presto, the destruction of the Democratic party for the forseeable future and the reawakening of the American people from their “long national nightmare.”
