It’s kind of a bright,

It’s kind of a bright, overcast day. Remarkably appropriate for this day of all days. All I can say is what I said when my eyes first opened on CNN this morning . . .

Hoo-Ray!

The Republicans basically swept the nation. They actually managed to pick up seats in the House and in the Senate and now control both houses of Congress with enough of a majority that one fellow turning traitor like Jim Jeffords did won’t imperil their control for the next two years. Hot damn!

Dissapointments abound though…

In Pennsylvania the morons of this state elected Fast Eddie as Governor. It is true that we like to alternate parties in the mansion but our last Democratic governor was a social conservative and did well by us fiscally. Fast Eddie is all liberal. Like one commentator said, “hold on to your guns and wallets because he’s coming for both.” I would add morality to the things soon to be under assault.

In Georgia a Republican was elected Governor for the first time since Reconstruction. Amazing. And they sent a Republican to the Senate.

Hawaii went Republican. Can you see Trent Lott in a grass skirt?

To the complete and utter bamboozled idiots in New Jersey, I give up. You people are not worthy of being citizens of this great republic. You’ve been hoodwinked! You’ve been bamboozled! (apologies to Malcolm X) The Democraps violated every aspect of the law, both in letter and in spirit, to put Lautenberg on the ballot and you clueless dopes rewarded them for it. There’s no hope for the Garden State anymore.

Same goes for California. Grey Davis runs your state into near collapse and you grant him another term to complete the destruction. It’s like having Godzilla ransack your city and then, after you lay him low some bunny hugger convinces you it’s not his fault, it’s just his nature so you let him loose to smash whatever’s left. Twits.

God bless the voters of Minnesota, Missouri and (we hope) South Dakota anyway. After the travesty of Wellstone’s memorial service ol’ Fritz can go back into retirement. Toodles. Missourians took responsibility for the future and put a good Republican in office. Looks like there’s a fair chance the Democraps will even lose in Daschle’s home state…you want a referendum on leadership? You got a referendum on leadership.

The Socialist Republic of Maryland elected a Republican Governor. We may have lost New Jersey for all time but there’s hope for our near southern neighbor yet.

That’s about it, lots of betrayals, lots of great victories. Now some of the Supreme Court justices can retire knowing that the President’s nominees to replace them will be confirmed by a Republican Senate. We might be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Overturning Roe v. Wade? Outlawing cloning and fetal stem cell research? There’s hope.
