Random Babblings
All kinds of nifty stuff on the ‘net today and I haven’t even been poking around for a full hour.
- Episode III has been reviewed already. I have to admit, even though the guy is only going from what we all expect to happen I reckon he’s pretty close on the details. I wouldn’t even count out the Jerry Springer thing after seeing the horrible sterotypes in the last couple of flicks (the Mel’s Diner thing in Ep II, the miserly Jew and greedy Japanese in Ep I).
- One of the best articles I’ve read yet on the atmosphere of slot machines. The dude hits it pretty much on the head. It’s part of the reason I enjoy going to Atlantic City – that’s more or less rock bottom. When you’re hanging out in the Plaza at 2 AM pumping quarters into the slots without even looking up, there’s really not anywhere else to fall. Makes me happy to be alive – for all my hassles at least I’m not those people.
More to come later I expect, I know I had something to say but I’m too tired to even think just now. Here’s hoping for a day with nothing to do but read.

Gamling is fine if you are in control of yourself.
Drinking\shopping\eating\sex\hobbies\television\movies…all these things are good in moderation. Hell my entire life consists of moderation. Too much of anything can be bad…eggs are good-eggs are bad-they’re good again. Who the hell knows better yet who cares long as it makes me happy.

Bah! I absolutely hate people who say, “as long as it makes me happy.” That’s pretty much the phrase that has led to the downfall of western civilization.
Whacking slow drivers, killing hippies and Democrats, doing what I like any day of the week is what would make me happy and yet I can’t bloody well do those things can I?
Bloody idiotic. It is true that moderation is the key but most people can’t do moderation. Listen to the morons suing McDonald’s for making them fat. Visit an AA meeting sometime. Hang out with a chain smoker. Moderation is all well and good but Americans don’t do moderation – looked at an SUV lately? Therefore, to preserve the sanity and values of our society we have to impose limits. I’ve no problem preventing gambling in PA, we don’t need those translucent, flourescing grannies here.
