Atonement

I just watched “Three Kings” again and I realized how badly we fucked those people in 1991. I suppose the campaign now underway is atonement for our moral collapse. We could have done this then, we could have avoided a second round of destruction and death but no, the realpolitikers were still in charge and stability was the most essential war aim. It would be nice to see Colin Powell relieved of his duties as Secretary of State not only for his previous opposition to the current war but for his absolute failings during the first Gulf War. Morality is not negotiable. You do not send half a million men halfway around the world to defend a group of oil-rich sheiks while leaving an entire nation at the whim of a psychotic murderer.

I accuse all the protestors of moral corruption. I accuse all those in power in 1991 of a lack of vision and I commend those who have suffered the slings and arrows of a morally bankrupt people and media and have demanded the right to prosecute this war for our safety and the liberty of others.

Funny isn’t it how one George Bush’s lack of vision can be redeemed by another George Bush? Finally, George Bush kill Saddam. Victory to our arms and freedom to the Iraqi people!
